The City Renewal Authority today announced the appointment of Craig Gillman as its next Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Malcolm Snow announced in early 2024.
Mr Gillman will assume the role on 28 June 2024, bringing extensive experience in leadership, operations, and urban development to guide the future of Canberra's City Centre.
Mr Gillman has been an integral part of the City Renewal Authority since 2019, serving as its Deputy CEO and acting CEO, before his current temporary tenure as the acting CEO of the Suburban Land Agency. Previously, he honed his skills as Executive Director at Transport for NSW and EY Canberra. Mr Gillman has a deep understanding of central Canberra's development needs and played a pivotal role in shaping the Authority's current operating and delivery model.
Mr Gillman’s leadership was instrumental in the Authority’s first land releases and the delivery of key urban renewal projects, including the City Walk improvements, Dickson streetscape upgrades, and the Acton Waterfront boardwalk extension. Several of these projects were successfully completed amidst significant impacts due to COVID-19 lockdowns.
Craig Gillman was selected for the CEO position through a competitive national recruitment process overseen by the Authority Board Chair and a panel of senior public servants.
