Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin’s original plan intended the city’s public street and space network would continue down to the lake in West Basin, ultimately connecting the city centre and Lake Burley Griffin. The ACT Government is progressing the development of Acton Waterfront, in line with the National Capital Plan, to bring the everyday life of the city to the lake.
The City Renewal Authority is further establishing Braddon as one of Canberra’s most exciting destinations that is full of activity, colour and energy.
With a growing residential population and established dining, shopping and commercial precincts, including Canberra’s Asian eatery hotspot, Dickson Group Centre is the heart of an already established community and has its own unique identity.
Northbourne Avenue is the gateway into Canberra and is currently undergoing significant change with new development and urban renewal along the corridor.
