Canberra’s City Centre is evolving to be future-ready, and community insights are guiding the long-term visions for the area.
City Renewal is working closely with members of the Canberra community to develop a concept masterplan design for City Hill park.
This work builds on the 2024 City Hill Ideas Exhibition which elicited more than 600 survey submissions and 69 design proposals, demonstrating strong community interest in the future of City Hill.
Expressions of Interest are now open for the City Hill People’s Panel, for Canberrans to directly shape the future of one of the city’s most important public spaces. EOIs are open 12 March to 10 April 2026.

The work of the People’s Panel will guide the masterplan framework and concept design options, which will be released for broader community consultation. This means the final concept masterplan will be shaped by the considered work of the Panel, stakeholder insights and the voices of the wider Canberra community.
Who can apply?
Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in the ACT or region is welcome to apply. No expertise is needed. We’re looking for a mix of people with different backgrounds and experiences, because a more diverse Panel will help create a better, more inclusive vision for City Hill park.
Panel members will receive $100 per session as an honorarium.
