Kids at Play Active Play

Kids at Play Active Play is an active play program that offers free online training and resources for early childhood educators and information for families.

The educator training is designed to help early childhood educators feel confident to promote active play and teach Fundamental Movement Skills in early childhood settings.

Fresh Tastes: Healthy Food at School

Fresh Tastes is a free ACT Government service.  It aims to help schools make healthy food and drinks a bigger part of everyday life for Canberra's children.

Fresh Tastes offers schools access to professional learning resources that support:

  • healthy lunchboxes
  • healthy canteen menus
  • implementing food and drink policies
  • healthy fundraising and events.

It’s Your Move

It's Your Move is a free program for high school students. The program aims to develop creative solutions to improve school health. It follows the design thinking process, developing skills in:

  • systems mapping
  • problem solving
  • pitching ideas
  • collaborating

The program will result in students implementing a school-wide project with a focus on health.

Vaping, Youth and Health

The Vaping, Youth and Health online course supports teachers of students in years 7 and 8 to develop and deliver learning programs about e-cigarettes and vaping.

The course provides evidence-based information on e-cigarettes, their health and environmental impacts, and access to a teacher toolkit including curriculum-linked classroom resources.
