A new station in the Molonglo Valley will bring Fire and Ambulance emergency services closer to residents of the area – (concept render)

A new Emergency Services Station in the Molonglo Valley will bring ambulance and fire and rescue services closer to residents.

Funded through the 2023-24 ACT Budget, the new station will be completed in 2025-26.

The Molonglo district is currently the fastest growing district in the ACT, with the population anticipated to double between 2017 and 2028.

This expected growth will increase demand on emergency response times. In recognition of this, funding was provided in the 2022-23 ACT Budget for the forward planning and preliminary design for a new ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) and ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) joint station for the Molonglo Valley region.

As part of the 2023-24 ACT Budget, $65.9 million will be used to construct a modern facility to support first responders in their service to the community, with the capability to expand in a way that will support emergency response times, address accommodation needs and will serve the growth of the Molonglo Valley and surrounding districts.

This new station will improve access to emergency services, which is important in providing community safety outcomes.
