The Socceroos will play in Canberra this September.
The Australian men’s soccer team will face New Zealand at GIO Stadium, Canberra on Friday, 5 September.
The ACT Government worked with Football Australia to secure the local fixture.
Following their appearance in Canberra, the Australian team will face the All Whites in a second match in Auckland on Tuesday, 9 September.
ANZAC Soccer Ashes
The trans-Tasman rivals will be playing for the historic ‘ANZAC Soccer Ashes’ trophy.
The Soccer Ashes embody the ANZAC Spirit that has long connected New Zealand and Australia and celebrates the two nations’ love of football.
Australia currently holds the Soccer Ashes following a 2-0 victory over the All Whites in 2023.
The match in the nation’s capital will be the Subway Socceroos’ first appearance since qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 26.
The two-match series will act as a valuable platform for the Subway Socceroos to commence preparations for the World Cup.
