The Australian men’s soccer team will face New Zealand in front of a packed stadium this Friday, 5 September 2025 at GIO Stadium.
The ACT Government worked with Football Australia to secure the local fixture.
Following their appearance in Canberra, the Australian team will face the All Whites in a second match in Auckland on Tuesday, 9 September.
ANZAC Soccer Ashes
The trans-Tasman rivals will be playing for the historic ‘ANZAC Soccer Ashes’ trophy.
The Soccer Ashes embody the ANZAC Spirit that has long connected New Zealand and Australia and celebrates the two nations’ love of football.
Australia currently holds the Soccer Ashes following a 2-0 victory over the All Whites in 2023.
This Friday's match will be the CommBank Socceroos’ first appearance since qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 26.
The two-match series will act as a valuable platform for the CommBank Socceroos to commence preparations for the World Cup.

General public tickets: Limited tickets are still available via Ticketek. $2 (plus GST) from every ticket sold will be donated to the CommBank Pararoos and CommBank ParaMatildas.

Free shuttle bus: Ticket holders can jump on the free shuttle buses from any major interchange and enjoy the ride straight to GIO Stadium.
GIO Stadium parking: Parking is available however, availability is limited.
Watch from home: The game will be broadcast on 10, 10 Play and Paramount+.
