Dogs and their owners can enjoy a social gathering with free dog treats, live music, a love-themed photo booth, and a doggy dating matchmaking event. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the special bond between you and your furry companion.

Also on Sunday, Northside Community Service will be hosting a free open day at the Salthouse Community Centre. From 12pm to 3pm, the open day will feature several free activities including children’s games, educational fix and ride bike workshops, live music by DJ Rohan Fox, and a BBQ for attendees.
The Salthouse Community Centre was built by City Renewal and opened in May 2023. The centre is named after the late Sue Salthouse, an advocate for people with disabilities.

The Paws Party and the Northside open day will be held alongside the popular Haig Park Village Markets, making for a great day out in Braddon. Open from 8am to 2pm, the markets will have a variety of stalls offering fresh produce, flowers, pastries, deli meats, sweet treats, and more.

Since 2019, City Renewal's monthly Paws Parties have been part of a broader effort to revitalise Haig Park and have attracted around 5000 visitors. The Paws Parties, along with events like the Salthouse Community Open Day and the Haig Park Village Markets, help transform the park into a welcoming community hub, connecting Canberrans with each other and fostering a sense of belonging and community wellbeing.
The Paws Parties are delivered by the City Renewal Authority’s placemaking partner Dionysus. Read the our article on Paws Parties for more history about the program.
