An ACT Government Website

Wherever you are in the ACT, we want the palliative care you receive to be:

  • based on the best evidence
  • provided by staff who understand how to best support you.

Providers of palliative care services in the ACT are committed to working together and with you to develop such a service. We are looking at what changes and improvements we can make.

Community consultation forums are planned for the future and we encourage you to have a voice in designing quality palliative care service in the ACT.

The members are:

  • Co-Chair: Adele Stevens

  • Alistair Christie (also Consumer Representative on the ACT Palliative Care Governance Committee)
  • Catherine King
  • Geoff Ward
  • John Guppy
  • Kantilal Jinna

Recommended education

Staff in health, aged care and community settings need training and support to provide the best end of life care to patients and their families.  A wide range of education is available to all health professionals, volunteers, carers and consumers.

Read the recommended end of life and palliative care education pathways for consumers and carers.

Research collaborative

An ACT and Southern New South Wales (ACT SNSW) End of Life and Palliative Care Research Collaborative has been set up to create exceptional end of life and palliative care research that can be used to improve end of life and palliative care both in the ACT and SNSW Local Health District Region.
