Pies are an Australian icon – who doesn’t like them?

Whether you love a traditional beef pie or something more adventurous like butter chicken, we’ve rounded up the best pies Canberra.

We put the call out on the @weareCBR Instagram page to find your favourites.

This family run business at Hall offers breakfast and lunch.

For around $10 you can grab a delicious pie and hot chips.

Dobinson’s, various locations

Dobinson’s has an extensive pie and pastries list.

From traditional pies such as beef and chicken to Mexican beef, pepper steak and chicken and mushroom – there’s a pie for everyone.

Erindale Cakery Bakery, Wanniassa 

This bakery’s menu includes plan pies, pepper pies, chicken or beef curry pies and vegetarian pies.

This family run bakery is located at Garran shopping centre.

They specialise in cakes, pies and coffee. The pepper pie is a must-try.

Gizmos Cafe, Phillip

This café is located on the ground floor of the IP Australia building.

Their meat pie comes recommended as the perfect work lunch option.

Griffith Butchery, Griffith 

This butchery has all the pies you could think of.

Their menu includes beef, bacon and cheese, Mexican chilli beef, cottage, chicken and vegetable, lamb and curry pies.

Hayden’s Pies, Chifley and Spence supermarkets

This small family business stocks their pies at the Spence Grocer and Chifley Grocer.

The chefs use locally sourced ingredients to create everything in-house, producing delicious pies with quality ingredients.

Knead Patisserie, Belconnen and Campbell

Knead offers a range of handcrafted pastries and artisanal breads.

Their products are made daily, including their delicious pies.

Canberrans have recommended the butter chicken pie.

We’ve been told the meat pies are a must-try at the Arboretum’s café.

Plus, this pie spot comes with a view.

Three Mills Bakery, various locations

This bakery specialises in artisan sourdough and pastries.

You can buy a range of pies including beef and pepperberry and chicken, leek and Riesling.

They also offer a bake at home range. Grab your favourite pies frozen to bake them at home fresh.

You can find this café in Casey’s shopping centre.

There’s a real tinkering and tailoring to this café’s pastries. If you find yourself on this part of town, be sure to try the butter chicken pie!

Wildflour sells a range of artisanal breads, pastries and treats.

Whilst known for their delicious and diverse croissant flavours, they also serve up delicious pies!
