The Canberra Screen and Games Fund and the former Canberra Screen Investment Fund have helped many major projects come to life on our screens and several are being recognised at a national level.
TV series “Austin”
Canberra had a big role in bringing ABC comedy series Austin to life.
The series was supported by the former Canberra Screen Investment Fund and was also partly filmed here in the capital.
Season 2 was recently nominated for 3 TV Week Logie awards:
- Silver Logie — Best Lead Actor in a Comedy (two nominations)
- Best Scripted Comedy Program.

TV series “Stuff the British Stole”
ABC series Stuff the British Stole is back for Season 3 and Canberra has a behind-the-scenes role.
Part of the show’s post-production was completed here in the ACT.
Screen Canberra and the ACT Government supported the new season through the Canberra Screen and Games Fund.

Uppercut Games’ “Magicians: The Devil’s Deal”
Screen Canberra is celebrating a major milestone for a game developed by Canberra-based studio Uppercut Games’ Magicians: The Devil’s Deal.
The game was recently announced at the XBOX Games Showcase – one of the world’s most-watched gaming events.
The game was supported by the Canberra Screen and Games Fund.
It is set for release in 2027. You can watch the trailer on XBOX’s YouTube channel.
Documentary “The Long Run”
The Long Run follows the journey of the Indigenous Marathon Project squad and Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) Ambassadors Jonathan Thurston and Lance Franklin.
Thurston and Franklin mentor 12 First Nations runners as they prepare for the TCS New York City Marathon in just six months.
The film was supported through the Canberra Screen and Games Fund and produced by local company Good Shout with support from Wolf Lab Studio, and the Nine Network.

Documentary “A New Anzac”
A new SBS documentary gives viewers an inside look at the redevelopment of the Australian War Memorial (AWM).
Follow along as construction teams and AWM staff outline the plans for the project, while explaining the rich history of the museum that they must preserve.
The series was supported by the Canberra Screen and Games Fund.

Documentary “Judgement: Cases That Changed Australia”
A new ABC documentary series follows four key High Court cases: Mabo, Marriage Equality, Immigration and the right to Vote.

Documentary “Under a Bamboo Sky”
Under a Bamboo Sky is a new Australian feature documentary made in recognition of the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII.
The documentary tells the story of a group of Australian prisoners of war by using personal recollections of soldiers, sailors and airmen.
It was produced by WildBear Entertainment with support from the former Canberra Screen Investment Fund.
The film is available to stream now on Netflix.
