The 2026–27 ACT Budget is investing in local artists, arts organisations and creative industries.

Through the budget, the ACT Government will increase investment in arts organisations by 25%.

The investment will:

• provide certainty and support to local artists, creatives and organisations
• position Canberra as a vibrant city with a thriving arts and creative scene
• make diverse, high-quality arts and entertainment more accessible to the community
• strengthen the city's cultural calendar and the experiences that attract people to live in, work in, and visit the ACT.

Supporting a thriving arts scene for Canberra

The Budget will strengthen the city's cultural calendar, support local talent and enhance the experiences that attract people to Canberra.

Ongoing funding will provide certainty to local artists, creatives and organisations to plan, invest and grow.

The Budget includes:

• ongoing support for Kulture Break to continue to deliver its student dance program in ACT Government schools from 1 July 2026
• a further round of funding for the Canberra Screen and Games Fund in 2027, following the first round earlier this year.

Supporting the arts industry will also benefit the community by making diverse, high-quality arts, entertainment and experiences more accessible. It will also create local jobs.
