A pedestrian crossing with traffic lights is being installed on Canberra Avenue near Burke Crescent, to improve safety for students.

- Construction is complete on a signalised pedestrian crossing on Canberra Avenue, Griffith, near Burke Crescent.
- The crossing with traffic lights will improve safety for students from St Edmund’s and St Clare’s Colleges as well as the broader community.
- Minor finishing works including landscaping will continue.
A new crossing with traffic lights is now operational on Canberra Avenue in Griffith.
The new crossing was switched on at around 11:30 am 21 July.
It has been placed near St Edmund's College and St Clare's College to help to manage traffic and provide a safer journey for students to and from school.
The ACT Government worked closely with both schools regarding the design and other safety improvements.
The crossing links up with nearby bus routes and services.
Stay safe while work continues
While the crossing is now operational, some minor finishing works including landscaping, will continue over coming weeks.
For everyone's safety, take care around the work site. Follow all signage and traffic directions and slow down to the temporary speed limits in the area.
