In brief:

  • Skyfire is returning in 2027.
  • The aerial display set to music will take place on Saturday 13 March.
  • The event will include markets, food vans, music and more.

Canberra’s skies will light up on Saturday 13 March as Skyfire returns in 2027.

The event is set around (and above) Lake Burley Griffin and expected to be viewed by at least one third of the ACT population.

The 20-minute fireworks show will start at 8:30 pm.

RAAF displays and more than 40,000 fireworks effects are sure to entertain visitors of all ages.

Skyfire began as a small event in 1989. Over the years it has grown to an all-day spectacular with Canberrans heading to the lake early to find the ideal vantage point.

In the hours leading up to the main event, visitors can expect activities, food trucks and live entertainment.

Skyfire is delivered through a partnership between radio stations Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3 and local businesses with support through the ACT Government's Major Events Fund and the National Capital Authority.

The event not only entertains thousands of people but also supports the local economy.
