Floriade is Australia’s biggest celebration of spring.
This year, Floriade will celebrate the theme, Feast of Flowers. Garden bed designs are inspired by the colours, textures and rituals of seasonal eating.
The program aims to connect visitors with local growers, producers and businesses.

For the foodies
It’s a jam-packed schedule of entertainment at Floriade this year, with food taking centre stage.
Five of the country’s best-known chefs, food personalities and authors will make special appearances at Floriade with demonstrations, workshops and meet-and-greet opportunities, including:
Cooking demonstrations with Canberra chefs
Top local chefs will share their favourite recipes at Floriade’s cooking demonstrations. They will be representing some of Canberra’s favourite restaurants, including:
Hands-on workshops with local producers
Create your own masterpiece at one of Floriade’s hands-on workshops with local producers and makers:
- Learn about Australian native ingredients with Wiradjuri man, Adam Shipp.
- Make an iced matcha latte with Teddy’s Matcha.
- Plant a tomato seedling with Majura Valley Farm.
- Build a grazing box with Groovy Grazing CBR.
For the kids
There’s also plenty of fun for the little ones:
- Take part in a Potting up Workshop and take something home to grow in your garden.
- Head to Gnome Knoll where you can buy, paint and display your gnome, or take it home as a keepsake.
- Join the Warehouse Circus and learn how to hula hoop, juggle or spin plates, or watch their street theatre performers.
- Make your own flower feast paper creation or floral bookmark as a unique souvenir.
Food and drink
Food is always a Floriade favourite, but for this year’s Feast of Flowers, it is a must. There are plenty of food and drink options to choose from, including:
- a traditional high tea at the Floriade Cafe
- locally brewed beer at the BentSpoke Brewing Beer Garden
- vegan Vietnamese street food at the Au Lac Food truck
- cocktails and gin-filled teapots at the Underground Spirits Gin Garden
- authentic barbecue chicken tikka at the Tikka Stand Food Truck
- Italian sweet treats at Cannoli Brothers.

Other things not to miss
- Floriade garden bed designs – In line with this year’s foodie theme, this year’s garden beds celebrate all things edible. Explore the designs or book a tour.

Getting to Floriade
Floriade is held at Commonwealth Park in Canberra.
Please be aware there may be road closures and limited car park availability due to construction in the area.
Travel options include:
- a free Floriade Shuttle bus between the city and Floriade
- free Floriade Weekend Express buses from Tuggeranong, Woden and Belconnen
- bike and walking routes from the City Centre (15 minutes)
- bike and walking routes from the Parliamentary Triangle (20 – 30 minutes)
- accessible parking options
- electric scooters available for hire.
The Floriade Walking Trail
Follow the Floriade Walking Trail, which is just a 15-minute walk from the City Centre.
There are cafes, shops and restaurants along the way, and make sure you pay Glorious Wally a visit.
Glorious Wally is a giant Royal Bluebell – our ACT floral emblem – standing six-metres tall in Garema Place.
