Dates have been announced for the 2027 National Multicultural Festival.

Australia’s largest celebration of cultural diversity will return from 5 to 7 February 2027.

Attendance numbers from the 2026 festival show it remains one of Canberra’s most loved community events.

Another successful year for the festival

The 2026 National Multicultural Festival welcomed 350,000 attendees. This provided a total economic benefit of almost $23M for the ACT.

The festival had an increase in visitors from outside of the ACT this year with 20,808 compared to 15,664 in 2025. Over 75% of visitors said they would like to return to see more of Canberra.

Those who attended are already looking forward to next year’s festival, with 87.5% of visitors stating they planned to return in 2027.

The success of the festival is due to the efforts of the community groups, volunteers, chefs and performers involved in the event.

2027 National Multicultural Festival

Like previous years, the 2027 festival will bring together many multicultural communities who share culture, history and heritage through food, art, music, dance and more.

More will be announced for the 2027 National Multicultural Festival soon.
