The ACT Government is investing in housing to improve affordability and availability. A range of measures aim to help individuals and households whether they rent or buy their home.

Our plans for housing in 2023-24

As part of the 2023-24 budget, we are prioritising:

  • investment into public housing growth, repairs and renewals
  • support for the community housing sector through the Affordable Housing Project Fund
  • planning system review, tax reforms and increased land releases.

The 2023-24 budget allocates $345m additional funding to housing programs, initiatives and measures. These priorities will help Canberrans access housing that is right for them and their situations.
