What is the ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List?
The ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List (formerly known as the ACT Critical Skills list) identifies occupations skilled migrants can nominate to apply for ACT nomination of either a:
You can also claim points in the Canberra Matrix if your nominated occupation is on the ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List or if you are working in an occupation on the List.
The ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List includes occupations that may be in high demand, that are supporting priority sectors, or where there is anticipated future demand. Canberra Matrix submissions with a nominated occupation in a critical sector may be prioritised. Critical sectors include the care, education, construction, renewables, experience, and advanced technology sectors.

Occupations may be capped if the number of nominations made in a financial year far outstrips demand for the occupation.
Current ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List
The ACT Nominated Migration Program Occupation List was last updated on 10 October 2025. It applies to all Canberra Matrix, regardless of when they were submitted.
We will review the list annually around the start of the new migration program year to make sure that the ACT Migration Program adapts and responds to the evolving needs of the ACT economy. A review does not guarantee that the list will be updated if the list continues to support the economic conditions at the time.
