ACTPS 2025 Taskforce Report
Summary
In 2024, the Chief Minister announced that changes would be made to better align the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) to government priorities.
The ACTPS 2025 Taskforce was established to undertake a review of the current structure and provide a report on the most effective way to achieve change.
There are 13 recommendations and subsequent actions, including:
- the formation of the City and Environment Directorate (CED), through the amalgamation of Access Canberra, TCCS and EPSDD
- the formation of the Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD), through the amalgamation of the Community Services Directorate (CSD) and ACT Health Directorate (ACTHD)
- the establishment of Digital Canberra (DC) that will focus on digital and information technology functions across the ACTPS
- the transfer of the Health Research and Ethics functions from ACTHD to Canberra Health Services (CHS)
- the ACT Heritage Library will transfer to the Territory Records Office as part of CMTEDD
- the Office of LGBTIQA+ Affairs will transfer to the Health and Community Services Directorate from CMTEDD
- the transfer of all infrastructure delivery, with the exception of strategic infrastructure planning, from ACTHD and CSD to Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR), including public housing growth, renewal and maintenance, and the Facilities Insourcing Taskforce.
