The 24 new two-bedroom public housing homes are now welcoming tenants in one of Canberra’s fastest growing regions.
Built for community and convenience
The homes are close to parks, shops, public transport and local schools, to support tenants in their everyday life.
For many residents, being close to essential services is an important step for building stability, independence and connection within the community.
Energy efficiency has been a major focus in the development. The homes average an impressive 8‑Star Energy Efficiency Rating. This means lower energy bills and more reliable comfort throughout the year.
Designed for accessibility
Accessibility is always a key feature of public housing.
The ground floor homes are certified as “Class C Adaptable Housing”. This means they can be easily modified to suit people with mobility needs. These features are vital for older residents and people living with a disability.
The other homes meet the principles of the “Liveable Gold Standard Housing Design”. This ensures larger living spaces and improved accessibility in key areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms.
