An ACT Government Website

Funding: $55.810 million

This project is part of the ACT Government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure to support an efficient and reliable public transport network for Canberra.

The Woden Bus Depot project will provide:

  • shelter for 100 buses, a bus wash and refuelling area
  • bus maintenance facilities including 14 service bays, tyre change and cleaning bay and storage spaces
  • a separate two-storey operations building
  • on-grade staff carparks at Bellona Court, one being on an additional site adjacent to Bellona Court, across Paramatta Street
  • paving works, site fencing, gates, waste enclosure, and landscaping
  • additional traffic lights at the Athllon Drive and Shea Street intersection to facilitate access to and from the depot including a bus-only turning lane at the intersection.

The design of the depot also allows for the future installation of solar panels and accommodation for a zero-emission bus fleet. This will help us reach our target of zero Government transport emissions by 2045.

Project Benefits

This project will deliver the following benefits to the Canberra Community:
