Shirley Smith High School provides a high-quality learning environment with capacity for up to 800 students from years 7 to 10. The school features learning areas for:
- woodwork, metal work, digital arts, digital technologies
- food technology
- performing arts - music, dance, drama
- creative arts
- English, science, maths.
Shirley Smith High School has a range of modern spaces available for use by community and sporting groups and organisations, thereby enriching the range of extra-curricular activities available in our local area.
Facilities include:
- double gymnasium with basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball markings (with kitchen facilities if needed)
- covered hard-surface sporting courts suitable for basketball and netball
- outdoor grass playing field suitable for soccer, rugby union and rugby league.
- Multipurpose hall
The environmentally sustainable design and construction using sustainable materials, air permeability membranes and a solar power generation system help the school contribute to the ACT Government’s zero-emissions target. The school has zero emissions in its operations.
