Crimes Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 - Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed to the introduction of the Crimes Legislation Amendment Bill 2021, including multiple reforms to improve the effectiveness and clarity of ACT criminal justice laws. The Bill includes amendments to support police use of body-worn cameras and to ensure family violence is considered in sentencing. Cabinet agreed the Attorney-General present the Bill in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 2 February 2021 (Minute number: 20/633/CAB Crimes Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 - policy approval)
Consultation on raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility

Cabinet agreed to release a Discussion Paper to seek community views on reforms to raise the minimum age of criminal responsibility in the ACT.
Report on the Review of the University of Canberra Act 1989

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Economic Development table the Report on the Review of the University of Canberra Act 1989 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
