Red Hill Integrated Plan – Zoning options for the Federal Golf Course

Cabinet considered the Red Hill Integrated Plan, the engagement report and additional information about zoning alternatives and implications for the Federal Golf Course and agreed on a preferred option to be used to finalise the draft Integrated Plan for Red Hill Nature Reserve and Surrounds. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 2 February 2021 (Minute number: 21/20/CAB Red Hill Integrated Plan - Options).

2021-22 Tax Settings

Cabinet agreed to general rates distributions for 2020-21 and to increase the pensioner rates rebate cap. Cabinet also agreed to extend stamp duty concessions, increase the Utilities Concession and extend it to ACT Services Access Card holders, provide additional funds to the Utilities Hardship Fund and fund additional community engagement to improve energy literacy and understanding of available assistance measures.

Work Health and Safety Amendment Bill 2021 - Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Industrial Relations and Workplace Safety present the Work Health and Safety Amendment Bill 2021 in the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Work Health and Safety Amendment Bill 2021 would introduce an offence of industrial manslaughter in the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and remove the existing offence of industrial manslaughter from the Crimes Act 1900. The Triple Bottom Line Assessment was considered by Cabinet on 23 March 2021 (Minute number: 20/615/CAB Work Health and Safety Amendment Bill 2021 – policy approval to introduce a WHS industrial manslaughter offence).

Memorandum of Understanding between the ACT and NSW Governments on Group Training Organisation registration

Minute number: 21/126/CAB

Cabinet agreed to endorse a Memorandum of Understanding between ACT and NSW Governments on the joint registration of Group Training Organisations to be executed at the senior official level in both jurisdictions.

Government Response to Petition 8-21 Expansion of Kippax Fair

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to Petition No. 8-21.

Establishing the ACT Domestic and Family Violence Death Review – Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed to amendments to the Domestic Violence Agencies Act 1986 to establish the ACT Domestic and Family Violence Death Review. Cabinet agreed the Minister for Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence introduce the bill into the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Cabinet agreed that relocation of the ACT/NSW border remains the ACT Government's preferred approach for addressing the complexities of cross-border service provision in relation to the Parkwood urban release area.
