Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary Strategy: Flourishing Nature Flourishing Culture

Cabinet agreed to the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary Strategy: Flourishing Nature Flourishing Culture.

The Strategy will set a direction for how the conservation values in the Mulligans Flat Sanctuary are managed and for interactions with research, land management, and community engagement. The positive impacts of the Strategy will be sustained and ongoing and will directly address the need for real and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The Ngunnawal community will be empowered to practice culture in the sanctuary and their culture is embedded into the management of the Sanctuary through the Strategy. Without the Strategy, decisions and actions will lack transparency, accountability and vision.

Ministerial Statement – Shoring Collapse at Dickson on 11 October 2022

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Business and Better Regulation provide a statement in the ACT Legislative Assembly on the shoring collapse that occurred in Dickson on 11 October 2022.

Public release of the draft ACT Circular Economy Strategy

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Transport and City Services release the draft ACT Circular Economy Strategy for public consultation.

As the ACT Government continues to develop a circular economy framework for the ACT, it is anticipated that there will be positive wellbeing impacts across the environment and climate and economy wellbeing domains.

Household waste collections – FOGO pilot report and special consideration process

Minute number: 22/559/CAB

Cabinet agreed to introduce a special consideration process for the Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) pilot.

The decision to implement a special consideration for vulnerable FOGO pilot households will have an impact on the access and connectivity of the FOGO pilot collection model for vulnerable households. Supporting households to manage their waste through the collection system will improve the service quality while not negatively impacting the positive environmental and resource recovery outcomes achieved by the FOGO pilot to date. The learnings from the special consideration can support the development of full FOGO rollout across all of the ACT.

ACT Government Submission to National Data Security Action Plan Discussion Paper

Cabinet noted the ACT Government Submission on the National Data Security Action Plan and Discussion Paper and agreed to consider a work program for potential future measures and mitigations.

As the ACT Government develops a work plan for potential future measure and mitigations, it is anticipated that there will be positive wellbeing impacts across the governance and institutions wellbeing domains.
