Interim Update on Implementation of the Senior Practitioner Act 2018

Cabinet agreed to table the Interim Update on Implementation of the Senior Practitioner Act 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The wellbeing impact of the Interim Update on the Implementation of the Senior Practitioner Act 2018 relates to the safety and health of people who may be subject to restrictive practices, and their families, guardians, and advocates. The Interim Update on the Implementation of the Act will highlight the strengths and limitations of the Act and the regulatory tools and powers available to the Senior Practitioner.

Development opportunities in the CRA precinct

Cabinet agreed the City Renewal Authority progress precinct estate planning, land releases, strategic acquisition feasibility investigations and industry engagements relevant to the City Renewal Precinct.
The City Renewal Authority development opportunities proposal, through the delivery of urban infill within the City Renewal Precinct, will contribute to a strong economy for all Canberrans to share in the wealth of our city.
Ministerial Statement on the commencement of the community Safe Haven pilot service

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Mental Health deliver the Ministerial Statement on the operation of the community Safe Haven pilot in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The Safe Haven will meet a current service system gap for after-hours services for people with psychological distress or escalated mental health concerns, who do not identify as being specifically in an emergency situation. Through the Safe Haven, people will be able to access early support from peer workers to assist them to manage their distress and mental health concerns. It is expected that as a result they will be able to lead mentally healthier lives and be more effective in maintaining their wellbeing.
Family Violence Amendment Bill 2022 - Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed to the presentation of the Family Violence Legislation Amendment Bill 2022 which will implement a number of reforms recommended in the Family Violence Act Review, as well as introduce other reforms to protect victims.
Amendments in the Family Violence Legislation Amendment Bill will primarily have major impacts on community safety, specifically in relation to the victims of crime and domestic and family violence indicators. The reforms will also have minor impacts across the governance and institutions wellbeing domain.
Policy Approval was agreed by Cabinet on 29 November 2021 (Minute Number: 21/680/CAB Domestic Violence Agencies Amendment Bill 2021 (Policy Approval)).

Domestic Animals Legislation Amendment Bill 2022 – Agreement to Introduce

Cabinet agreed to the introduction of the Domestic Animals Legislation Amendment Bill 2022 in the ACT Legislative Assembly which will establish an annual registration framework for cats and introduce new requirements for cats acquired from 1 July 2022 to be contained to the premises.
The Domestic Animals Legislation Amendment Bill 2022 will have environment and climate wellbeing impact. The impact is anticipated to be positive through biodiversity benefits anticipated over time from reducing cat predation on wildlife.
Policy Approval was agreed by Cabinet on 29 November 2021 (Minute Number: 21/585/CAB Domestic Animals (Annual Cat Registration and Containment) Legislation Amendment Bill 2022).
Government Response to Assembly Resolution of 23 June 2021 – e-Waste Recycling

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Transport and City Services table the Government Response to the Resolution of 23 June 2021 on e-waste recycling.
The Government Response includes information on the ongoing work of the ACT Government to address e-waste, which seeks to reduce the number of e-waste items going to landfill and therefore will have a positive wellbeing impact on the environment.
Release of De-Identified Workers Compensation Claims Data
