  • administering ACT laws, including those relating to justice, criminal, civil, commercial, property, community safety and regulatory laws
  • maintaining registers where required by legislation or where needed to perform legislative functions

Unless required by law, we will not  generally collect or disclose your information without your consent.

Our privacy policy describes where we may be required to collect or share your personal information with law enforcement, other public authorities or overseas recipients.

How to access and correct information about you

You have the right to ask:

  • for access to personal information that we hold about you
  • that we correct personal information we hold about you.

If you ask, we must give you access to your personal information and take reasonable steps to correct it if we consider it is incorrect, unless there is a law that allows or requires us not to.

We will notify you and explain our reasons if we refuse to give you access to, or correct, your personal information.
