The ACT Vocational Education and Training (VET) Completions Grants 2026 is a new grants program delivered by Skills Canberra and is now open for applications.
Applications close Thursday 4 June 2026, 5pm.
The program supports the ACT Government’s commitment to improving vocational education and training (VET) completion outcomes by funding projects that assist learners, particularly those from priority groups, to complete VET training and succeed in employment.
Eligible organisations can apply for up to $250,000 (GST exclusive) to deliver projects from August 2026 to December 2027.

How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via the online Smartygrants application form.
Applicants must upload the following documents with their application:
- ACT VET Completions Grants Program 2026 - Project Plan (DOCX 85KB)
- ACT VET Completions Grants Program 2026 - Budget Template (XLSX 19KB)
- Letters of support from each project partner
- Quotes for any planned expenditure over $5,000.
What can be funded
Projects may:
- support currently enrolled VET learners, including apprentices and trainees;
- support prospective VET learners, including apprentices and trainees, to improve readiness and likelihood of completion; and/or
- deliver system‑level improvements that strengthen VET processes, supports and pathways and create longer‑term change.
Priority learners
Projects should support learners from one or more priority groups, including:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Women
- People with disability
- Young people
- People experiencing long‑term unemployment
- People from culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Mature age Australians.
Who can apply
Applications are open to:
- registered training organisations (RTOs)
- group training organisations
- employers and industry associations
- community organisations including Aboriginal Community‑Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
- education and training providers or other organisations with training as a key focus of their business.

Improved Completions is a joint initiative between the Australian Government and ACT Government.
