Audrey Fagan Leadership and Communication Program

For women wanting to gain confidence and improve their leadership and public speaking skills.

The Audrey Fagan Leadership and Communication program is for women and gender diverse people who want to gain confidence and improve their leadership and public speaking skills.

About the program

The 3-week program includes 3 tailored workshops, coaching and resources.

The program is run every year and is free.

The program helps women and gender diverse people:

  • develop their leadership skills
  • build confidence
  • improve their communication and public speaking skills.

This is not an accredited course, but each participant will receive a certificate of completion.

Applications for the 2024 program have closed.

Check if you can apply

Any woman or gender diverse person with an interest in developing their leadership and communication skills can apply.

We give preference to:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
  • women from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • LGBTIQA+ women
  • women with disability
  • women working in traditionally male-dominated fields
  • women who have not had the chance to attend other leadership training.

We also give preference to:

  • women who can attend all 3 workshops
  • people who are not ACT Public Service staff.

You cannot apply if you’ve already participated in this (or a similar) program.

About Audrey Fagan

Audrey Fagan was the ACT’s first female Chief Police Officer.

In 2007, the ACT Government established the Audrey Fagan Programs to honour her memory and celebrate her contribution to women in public life at the highest level.
