An ACT Government Website

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Partnerships

We provide support, advocacy, and advice to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health across the ACT public health system.

What we do

We work to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a voice in policy.

We work across the community and government to:

  • build strategic relationships with stakeholders from ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • give advice and support for the ACT Government on strategic policy issues
  • help the ACT Health System to meet the national ‘Closing the Gap’ targets
  • educate, promote, and embed cultural safety and security across the health system
  • identify emerging health priorities and future strategic directions for ACT Health.

Who we work with

We work with key groups and organisations, including:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Bodies
  • United Ngunnawal Elders Council
  • Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services
  • Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation.
