About the 2023 Skilled to Succeed Innovation grants program
The 2023 Skilled to Succeed Innovation grants program closed on 31 March 2023.
The grants program will address Priority 2 of the ACT Government’s skills and workforce agenda, Skilled to Succeed, by supporting the development of a more responsive, flexible, future-focused skills system and workforce.
The program will support projects related to critical skills needs in priority industry sectors such as:
- renewables and sustainability
- technology (including cybersecurity and health informatics)
- building and construction
- tourism and hospitality
- the care sector (including aged care, childcare, and disability).

How to apply
All applications must be submitted via the online program application form at SmartyGrants.
Please attach a completed Skilled to Succeed Innovation grants program project plan template (DOCX 528KB) or (PDF 433KB) to your online application.
Applications closed 5pm, Friday 31 March 2023.
Who can apply?
Applications will be considered from training and education providers (including registered training organisations and higher education providers), group training organisations, local employers, industry representative bodies, professional associations, and other organisations with relevant skills and expertise.
What can you apply for?
Organisations will be able to apply for up to $90,000 in funding for any single application under the grants program.
The intended outcomes of the grants program are to develop:
- better knowledge of local industry skills needs and training gaps;
- new delivery models for fit-for-purpose training, including using micro-credential and partnerships between industry, VET and the higher education sector; and
- more efficient and connected pathways for all Canberrans to achieve the skills they need to enter the workforce and/or upskill to be fully productive in the workplace.
