Prevent detainee contact

Learn how you can prevent contact from a detainee at the Alexander Maconochie Centre.

ACT Correctives Services No Contact List

People who don't want to be contacted by a detainee at the AMC can be placed on a no contact list.

If you are on a no contact list, specified detainees at AMC are prevented from contacting you by:

  • email
  • mail
  • visits
  • telephone.

How to get on the No Contact List

If you're a victim of a crime by a detainee at the AMC, you'll be automatically added to the No Contact List. This includes if you are:

  • an identified victim of a sexual offence, where the offender has been sentenced
  • an identified victim of an offence against a child or young person, where the offender has been sentenced
  • listed on an ACT Victims Register.

You don't have to be a victim of crime to be on a no contact list. If you would like to be added to a no contact list for a detainee at AMC, you can request this by either:

You will need to provide:

  • your name
  • the name of the offender
  • the contact details you would like on the list
  • details of any court orders
  • the reason you would like to be on the list.

Your privacy

Information on the No Contact List is used only for the purpose of preventing contact by the detainee. It is confidential and only accessible by select ACT Corrective Services staff for the purpose of maintaining the list.
