Community engagement

A Major Plan Amendment (MPA) is needed to allow the Telopea Park Playing Fields land to be used for educational purposes.

The public consultation period for the MPA was 13 February 2026 to 30 March 2026. The City and Environment Directorate are reviewing submissions and progress to the next stages. For more information on the MPA process and to stay up to date on the next steps, visit the ACT Planning website.

Previous consultations

The ACT Government asked the community for feedback on the expansion and modernisation of Telopea Park School in 2023.

The consultation asked specifically for feedback about the pedestrian, traffic and parking experience.

This early feedback has helped shape the current proposal for the playing fields, including the decision to:

  • provide additional parking
  • improve pedestrian connections between the school and the site
  • focus on safe access for students and the community.
