ACT Disability Justice Reference Group
We helped develop the ACT Disability Justice Strategy 2019 – 2029 to ensure people with disability in the ACT have equal access to justice.
The ACT Disability Justice Reference Group helped develop the ACT Disability Justice Strategy 2019–2029.
This is a 10-year strategy with action plans to ensure people with disability in the ACT have equal access to justice.
What we do
The group made sure the experience of people with disability was central to the strategy’s development. Its members:
- worked with the Community Services and the Justice and Community Safety Directorates to guide the strategy's development
- talked with people with disability, their families and carers
- heard from people working in the justice and disability service sectors
- gave advice on what to include in the strategy.
Our members
The reference group includes:
- people with disability
- people with lived experience of the justice system
- representatives from organisations across the justice, disability and human services sectors.

Meeting dates
The group met every 8 weeks between June 2018 to June 2019 to guide the development of the strategy.
