Study tours and delegations for overseas groups

Find out how to arrange a study tour or delegation at ACT public schools for overseas groups of adults or students.

At times, our public schools can host visitors from overseas who want to do a:

  • study tour, for groups of students
  • delegation tour, for groups of adults.

There is usually a cost for us to host study tours and delegations. All prices include GST.

Our International Education Unit manages all enquiries about study tours and delegations. Our schools do not manage these types of enquiries. We will assess your request and help arrange the visit, if it's possible.

No school can host any groups in the first 2 weeks of each school term or during school holidays. Find out ACT public school terms.

Study tours

Study tours are for students, with at least 10 students and no more than 20 students per tour.

The program includes an initial 'meet and greet' followed by school-based activities for:

  • up to 3 hours (half day) or
  • within 9am to 3pm (full day).

The program may include a visit to education facilities that are not on the school site. You may need to pay an extra fee for entry.

If there are accompanying parents, we can help develop activities for them. For example, we can arrange tours to other educational institutions, an English language or cooking class or special interest forum. We can quote a price for this when we know your needs.

The tour organiser for your group is responsible for arranging:

  • international flights and airfares
  • travel insurance for your group
  • food and accommodation for students and adults during your stay
  • transport from where you are staying to the school
  • Canberra sightseeing plans.

If your group will be in Australia for more than 2 weeks, find out about homestay accommodation through the Australia Homestay Network. It can give information on what it can arrange and the cost.

For a school program of 5 days or more:
