An ACT Government Website

Each year, all ACT rural landowners need to complete an annual return of land and livestock. It shares important information about livestock numbers and agricultural land use across the Territory. It helps the ACT Government prepare for potential animal disease outbreaks or other emergencies.

Lodge your stock return

As a rural landowner, you must lodge an annual return of land by 7 July each year under the Stock Act 2005.

You need to count all livestock on your property that are 6 months or older. This includes livestock that you don’t own but are on your holding as of 30 June.

If you're a rural lessee and don't have livestock on your property, you'll still need to complete an annual return of land and livestock. If you don’t have livestock, select ‘no’ under Livestock on the form.

Online

Submit your annual return of land and livestock online. The form asks the same questions as the paper form and only takes a few minutes to complete.
