An ACT Government Website

Summary

The ACT Corrective Services Disability Action and Inclusion Plan shows our commitment to provide an inclusive and equitable service across our services.

Having a Disability Action and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) is an action stemming from the ACT Government’s Disability Justice Strategy. This strategy is a 10 year commitment to achieve equity and inclusion for people with disability in the justice system.

The commitments in our DAIP are underpinned by 3 key principles:

  • Trauma informed
  • Empowerment
  • Dignity and privacy.

Our DAIP 2024 to 2026 identifies commitments across 4 focus areas:

  • Focus Area 1: Skilled and supported staff
  • Focus Area 2: Responsive service delivery
  • Focus Area 3: Individualised care
  • Focus Area 4: Equitable access.
