The strategy aims to minimise the devastating losses our communities can face from bushfires, floods, storms, security situations and other hazards.
The strategy promotes:
- collective responsibility for disaster resilience
- a common vision and whole of society approach to disaster resilience.
This will improve the ability of the ACT to resist, manage and recover from emergencies, disruptive events and their effects.
The ACT Disaster Resilience Strategy empowers all areas of society to build disaster resilience, including:
- individuals
- community organisations
- resilience practitioners
- businesses.
