Be the Change We Seek Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Framework
Summary
This framework builds on ACT Corrective Services’ commitment to addressing the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the ACT criminal justice system.
It examines factors that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in their healing, rehabilitation and reintegration. We recognise there is often interplay between offending, trauma experiences, mental illness, and cognitive disability.
We developed this framework with community stakeholders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with lived experience of corrective services.
