The new Early Childhood Education Care (ECEC) to Year 6 school in Strathnairn will provide families with high-quality education close to home.
Current update
- The new primary school and ECEC in Strathnairn will open in stages.
- The school will open for students in preschool to Year 2 at the start of 2026.
- It is expected that students from all year levels will be able to attend in 2027.
Overview
The new Strathnairn school will cater for 130 ECEC places and 780 students from preschool to year 6 for the growing number of families in the Ginninderry region.
The school will have modern classrooms and facilities to support learning and will support students with specialised needs.

Project features
- Facilities will include a single gymnasium with basketball, netball, futsal and volleyball markings, covered hard court suitable for basketball and netball, kickabout spaces for ball sports and external play equipment.
- The school will operate using 100 per cent electricity.
- The buildings will use sustainable materials and have a solar power generation system.
