Strathnairn School is a new Early Childhood Education Care (ECEC) to Year 6 public primary school. It will provide high-quality education close to home for families in the Ginninderry region.

Current update

  • Stage one facilities (preschool to year 2 students) opened Day 1, Term 1 2026
  • The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) centre opened in April 2026
  • Stage two facilities, including the canteen, school hall and additional indoor and outdoor learning spaces are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Overview

Strathnairn School will have places for up to 130 children in early childhood education and care (ECEC) and up to 780 students from preschool to year 6.

The school is designed to support modern teaching, local community connection and be environmentally sustainable. It features inclusive classrooms, specialist learning areas and outdoor spaces inspired by the natural surroundings of Ginninderry.
