The newly built Gungahlin Community Centre provides flexible spaces for meetings, events, creative activities and gatherings.

The centre is conveniently located near public transport, parking, shops and community services.

Features include:

Large meeting halls

Three large halls can be hired individually or combined for larger events.

Combined, the halls can accommodate up to 120 people.

Eucalyptus Hall

  • Capacity: 36
  • Access to the community kitchen and servery is available for an additional fee when booking Eucalyptus Hall.

Kangaroo Paw Hall

  • Capacity: 42

Bottlebrush Hall

  • Capacity: 42

Hearing loops are available on request.

HDMI cables are not supplied.

Community kitchen

The commercial-style kitchen includes:

  • two induction cooktops
  • double oven and one grill/ over
  • food/plate warming cabinet
  • refrigerator and freezer
  • one double sink
  • two accessible sinks with instant hot and cold water
  • two dishwashers
  • stainless steel bench tops
  • multiple power outlets
  • servery into Eucalyptus Hall (spaces hired separately)
  • lockable storage available for regular hirers (subject to availability).

Cookware is not provided. It needs to be compatible with induction cooktops.

Do not use abrasive scrubbers or chemicals on stainless steel surfaces.

Snow Gum Multipurpose Room
  • Capacity: 30
  • Tables and chairs included
  • Large screen with hearing augmentation systems

Room fitted with acoustic wall panels. Pinning or fixing items to the wall are not allowed.

Hearing loops available upon request.

Meeting rooms

Meeting and consultation rooms are available for small group discussions, interviews and private meetings.

Silky Oak Meeting Room

  • Capacity: 10 people

Ironbark Meeting Room

  • Capacity: 5 people
  • Round table

Small meeting rooms

  • 6 rooms
  • Capacity: 2 to 3 people
  • All rooms include an electric sit-stand workstation
  • 2 to 3 chairs per room

First floor

Individual workstations

Eight individual workstations are available and include:

  • sit-stand desks
  • power and USB-C connections
  • shared kitchenette
  • breakout space.
Wet Arts Workshops

The Waratah and Grevillea workshops are suitable for ceramics, painting and other visual arts activities.

Each room fits up to 15 people and can be joined to accommodate up to 30 people. Rooms are hired individually.

Each space includes:

  • washable surfaces
  • specialist sinks
  • ceiling-mounted power outlets
  • lockable storage available for regular hirers (subject to availability).

An accessible sink is available in the Grevillea workshop only.

Do not dispose of clay or paint in the sinks.

Sundew Dry Arts Workshop

Suitable for drawing, craft, design and other dry creative activities.

  • Capacity: up to 18 people
  • Tables and chairs available
  • Bench spaces
  • lockable storage available for regular hirers (subject to availability).

Tables and chairs can be removed if not required.

There is no sink in this space.

Flannel Flower Digital Arts Studio
  • Capacity: 2 people
  • Workstations with tables and chairs
  • Two computer monitors.
River Red Gum Activity Studio

Suitable for dance, fitness, movement and performance activities.

  • Capacity: up to 40 people

Features include:

  • sprung timber floor suitable for dance and movement activities
  • full-length mirrors and ballet barres
  • curtains
  • Bluetooth sound system
  • two changing rooms with 12 open storage cubbies each

Fees vary depending on the space booked and the type of organisation making the booking.
