Funding: $25 million in funding for this project. Paid by instalments as key milestones are delivered
The UNSW Canberra City campus will establish education and research facilities, collaborative industry activities and facilities. This includes parking, student accommodation, student services and retail to support the campus population.
The campus will facilitate innovation and growth in the defence and cyber security industries, building on Canberra’s strengths and providing greater opportunities to collaborate. The new campus will also be part of the reimagining of the City Centre’s eastern corner, capitalising on the area’s capacity to collocate education, recreation and tourism uses. As a premier address in the National Capital, the new campus will be a key driver for City Centre success.
The ACT Government’s investment in the UNSW Canberra City campus includes:
- approximately eight hectares of land in the city’s south-east
- the cost to remediate any contamination on the site, and
UNSW Canberra has consulted with the community and stakeholders to help inform the new campus master plan for the new campus. The master plan has been approved by the ACT Government with construction due to commence in 2024.
