Patient experience

An important way to improve patient quality and safety care is by gathering information about patients' experiences. Patient experience captures information on patients’ views of their interactions with the healthcare system and communication with staff delivering healthcare services.

Data highlights

Patients who rated their care as good or very good

The Patient Experience Survey asks about the overall quality of the treatment and care received at Canberra Health Services and provides patients the opportunity to rate the care received from ‘very poor’ to ‘very good’.

Overall ratings of care provided by a hospital reflect general measures of patient satisfaction about the hospital experience.

Patients who would recommend Canberra Health Services to their family and friends

The Patient Experience Survey asks whether patients would recommend Canberra Health Services to family and friends.

A patient’s willingness to recommend a hospital to their family and friends is influenced by the patient’s satisfaction with the treatment and care received in the hospital, as well as the hospital environment such as facility cleanliness, noise levels and food.
