Cabinet endorsed the ACT Government submission to the Standing Committee on Education and Community Inclusion inquiry into Access to Services and Information in Auslan.

The main domain under the Wellbeing Impact Assessment is Access and Connectivity as well as Safety and Identity and Belonging. The ACT Government support better access to services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Canberrans, opening avenues to improved social and life outcomes.

ACT Tax Expenditure Statement 2020-21

Cabinet agreed to the public release of the ACT Tax Expenditure Statement 2020-21.

Under the requirements of the ACT Government Cabinet Handbook, no Wellbeing Impact Assessment was required for this item.

Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Amendment Bill 2022 – Policy Approval

Cabinet provided policy approval for amendments to the Working with Vulnerable People Background Checking) Act 2011, to be presented in the ACT Legislative Assembly during the October 2022 sitting period.

The Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Scheme ensures vulnerable people of the ACT community are protected to thrive in a safe environment. Proposed 2022 amendments will aim to positively impact the vulnerable community by strengthening safeguards for WWVP registration and assessments.

  • ACT Disability Reference Group – Reappointment (Minute Number: 22/308/CAB)
  • Appointment of Official Visitor for the purpose of the Disability Services Act 1991 (Minute Number: 21/826/CAB)
