Extension to the National Partnership on COVID-19 Response

Cabinet noted the extension to the National Partnership on COVID-19 Response has been signed by the Minister for Health.

Australian Government funding under the National Partnership on COVID-19 Response (NPCR) provides support to the ACT to protect Canberrans by limiting COVID-19 disease transmission and reducing hospitalisation, severe disease and death through resources to support the ongoing vaccination program, hospital and testing services, health emergency response, quarantine and isolation supports, compliance activities, public information communication and continued policy decisions in response to the changing phases of the pandemic.

Safe and Supported: the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2021-2031 – Action Plans

The ACT Government agreed to endorse the Safe and Supported: The National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2021-2031 Action Plans.

The Action Plans have positive impacts for the ACT community in relation to outcomes for children and families.

Recovery Plan for Nursing and Midwifery Workers

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to Petition No 19-22 – Recovery Plan for Nursing and Midwifery Workers be provided to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Government Submission to the Standing Committee on Justice and Community Safety Inquiry into the Freedom of Information Amendment Bills 2022

Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) - Core Conditions Negotiations

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Health commence negotiations for new core conditions for Visiting Medical Officer contracts to be undertaken in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 7 of the Health Act 1993.

The Submission relates to the Health Domain and the arrangements for negotiation of core condition in service contracts for private medical practitioners who provide medical services to public patients in the ACT public health system.
