The COVID-safe return to school will have a major positive impact on the education and life-long learning of ACT children and young people.

Private Buildings Cladding Remediation – Concessional Loan Scheme Parameters

Cabinet agreed key aspects of the Concessional Loan Scheme for Private Buildings Cladding Remediation, which was announced on 21 July 2021, to enable the scheme to open in mid-2022.

The scheme will assist owners of eligible buildings affected by combustible cladding to address fire safety risks. Up to 2,000 Canberra households will benefit from safer housing by rectifying combustible cladding on their apartment buildings.

(COMEBACK) Response to the Assembly Motion in relation to National Disability Insurance Scheme

COVID-19 Business Support Grants and Small Business Hardship Scheme Funding Update

Cabinet agreed to funding adjustments for the demand-driven COVID-19 Business Support schemes that were implemented to provide support to eligible businesses impacted by the COVID-19 public health restrictions, including the COVID-19 Business Support Grants, the Small Business Hardship Scheme and a second round of the Amp it Up! grants.

The programs will have a major impact on the economic wellbeing domain and secondary impact in the health wellbeing domain. The programs are directly targeted at small business owners and are anticipated to have a major impact on business and consumer confidence. They will also have a major impact on the health and wellbeing of small business owners, their employees, and patrons.

Report: Implementation of the Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation Eradication Scheme (1 July - 31 December 2021)

Government Response to Standing Committee on Planning, Transport and City Services Report 5 – Draft Territory Plan Variation 364 Gungahlin Town Centre: Amendments to the Gungahlin Precinct Map and Code

Cabinet agreed to the Government Response to the Standing Committee on Planning, Transport and City Services – Draft Variation to the Territory Plan 364 Gungahlin Town Centre: Amendments to the Gungahlin Precinct Map and Code and the Government Response be tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly. Cabinet agreed to the finalisation and approval of the Draft Variation in accordance with the process of the Planning and Development Act 2007.

The wellbeing impact that will be facilitated through Draft Variation to the Territory Plan 364 Gungahlin Town Centre: Amendments to the Precinct Map and Code relates to the Gungahlin community through changes to planning controls in the town centre to provide opportunities for additional local employment through mixed use and commercial development, together with appropriate continuing residential development.

ESA Support to Assist ACT Government Covid-19 Response

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services presenting a Ministerial Statement on ESA Support to Assist ACT Government COVID-19 Response in the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Coroner’s Inquiry and response into the death of ‘Passenger H’

Minute number: 21/625/CAB

Cabinet agreed the Government Response to the Coronial Inquiry findings into the death of Passenger H and the Minister for Transport and City Services table the findings and Government Response in the ACT Legislative Assembly, noting the family’s request for the report to be deidentified.

Once the independent risk assessment is completed and assessed by Transport Canberra, recommendations may be implemented that will have wellbeing impacts. If any recommendations are implemented following the completion of the independent risk assessment, it is likely that these will target the wellbeing domain of safety for Canberrans using community buses provided by Transport Canberra. Any future actions are likely to affect older Canberrans, people with a disability and carers who use such services.

Response to Petition 32-21 No Rights Without Remedy (tabled 23 November 2021)

Options for the Management of Protestors at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC)

The Security and Emergency Management Committee of Cabinet considered the safe management of the current over-capacity camping situation at the Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) in light of the high-profile Canberra community events at the site from Friday, 11 February 2022.

A Wellbeing Impact Assessment was not prepared for this item given the time imperatives of the emerging situation.
