ACT Ambulance Service Enterprise Agreement Ongoing Negotiations

Cabinet agreed timing for negotiations on the ACT Ambulance Service Enterprise Agreement.
The proposal will have a positive wellbeing impact for employees of ACT Ambulance Service, enhance service delivery to the community and will strengthen the ACT as an employer of choice for people seeking a career in Emergency Services.
Government Response to Petition E-PET-011-24 – Duplication of Dalrymple Street (southbound) south of Goyder Steet, Red Hill/Narrabundah

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services provide the response to Petition E-PET-011-24 – Duplication of Dalrymple Street (southbound) south of Goyder Street, Red Hill/Narrabundah to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The ACT Government recognises that improved traffic flow along Dalrymple Street will strengthen the access and connectivity for the community.
Commonwealth Renewable Energy Transformation Agreement

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reductions sign the Renewable Energy Transformation Agreement with the Commonwealth.
The Renewable Energy Transformation Agreement will have a positive impact on the wellbeing domain of living standards. The measures in the agreement will assist in achieving reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, support diversification of the ACT energy supply and provide support to sectors of the community that may have difficulty transitioning from fossil fuels.
ACT Government Response to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body Report on the Outcomes of the Elected Body Hearings 2024 – 12th Report to the ACT Government

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs table the ACT Government Response to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body Report from Hearings April 2024 - Twelfth Report to the ACT Government in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
The work and initiatives described in the ACT Government Response seek to implement the ACT Agreement and the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to deliver better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This work impacts all areas of wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the ACT.
Government Response – Early childhood education training support Assembly resolution of 5 June 2024

The actions outlined in the Government response will have a significant impact on the education and life-long learning wellbeing domain and a broad range of domains.
Government Response to Petitions E-PET-009-24 & PET 023-24 – Long-term car park at Kippax Group Centre

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services provide the Government Response to Petitions E-PET-009-24 & PET-023-24– Long-term car park at Kippax Group Centre to the Clerk of the ACT Legislative Assembly for tabling.
The number and mix of parking (short and long stay) needs to be balanced to meet the needs of all people and to support turnover of parking spaces. The ACT Government has instituted several changes in recent years to improve Access and Connectivity with parking arrangements at the Kippax Group Centre and ensure the sufficient availability of parking – both short- and long-term.
Infrastructure Priority List – ACT proposals

Cabinet agreed the ACT Government prepare proposals for submission to Infrastructure Australia for their consideration on the Infrastructure Priority List.
The proposal is expected to have minor wellbeing impacts to the Governance and Institutions domain by promoting trust in government. The successful listing of proposals on the Infrastructure Priority List would support the ACT to advocate for Commonwealth investment in ACT infrastructure, which would in turn support the liveability of our city by enabling infrastructure to be delivered when its needed most.
Skilled to Succeed Industry Action Plans Final Circulation

The Skilled to Succeed Industry Action Plans will have positive wellbeing impacts across the lifelong education and learning domain as well as the economy domain.
Government Response – Urban Tree Canopy Coverage (4th Update) Resolution of 31 March 2021

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services present the 2024 Report to the ACT Legislative Assembly on Urban Tree Canopy Cover.
The Urban Tree Canopy Coverage (report) provides key actions underway to meet the objectives of the Strategy and their level of contribution towards achieving the canopy cover target including a planting program of 54,000 trees by 2024, canopy cover mapping, a forest condition report, updates to living infrastructure reference documents, and community planting programs.
Government Response – Light Rail Stage 2B Assembly Resolution of 8 February 2024

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Transport table a paper in the ACT Legislative Assembly providing an update on the Light Rail Stage 2B project in response to an Assembly Resolution of 8 February 2024.
The paper will have a positive impact on the wellbeing domain of access and connectivity.
Report 5 – Dhulwa Independent Oversight Board

Cabinet agreed the Minister for Mental Health table Report 5 from the Dhulwa Independent Oversight Board in the ACT Legislative Assembly and present a Ministerial Statement providing an update on Canberra Health Services progress made on implementing the recommendations made in the Report.
This proposal supports wellbeing domains of Governance and Institutions and Health. Specifically, implementing recommendations the ACT Government agreed to will contribute to sustainable improvements that will ensure the provision of safe and high-quality mental health care for consumers and staff within Dhulwa Mental Health Unit.
Report on the Veterinary Practice Review

Cabinet agreed to the Minister for City Services table a report on the statutory review of the Veterinary Practice Act 2018 in the ACT Legislative Assembly, resulting from a public consultation process that included the release of a discussion paper on veterinary practice in the ACT.
Consulting on veterinary practice primarily has an immediate positive impact on the Governance and Institutions domain by seeking perspectives from stakeholders and the community on the operation of legislation and identifying potential issues and future opportunities for improvement.
Government Response to Assembly Resolution of 1 June 2023 – Active Travel Infrastructure and Government Response to Assembly Resolution of 26 June 2024 – Footpath Maintenance

Cabinet agreed the Minister for City Services present a Tabling Statement and Government Response to the ACT Legislative Assembly in response to the Assembly Resolution ‘Active Travel Infrastructure’ dated 1 June 2023 and Assembly Resolution ‘Footpath Maintenance’ dated 26 June 2024.
This initiative aligns with the ACT Transport Strategy and ACT Climate Strategy and supports the Active Travel Plan 2024-30 by providing a safer, more accessible and connected city that supports Canberrans to make active, healthy and sustainable transport choices.
