Overview
The ACT Government is building a new aquatic centre in Commonwealth Park, close to Lake Burley Griffin and the City Centre. The site sits near cultural destinations and future light rail stops.
The centre will deliver as many uses as possible for the entire Canberra community.
It will provide spaces to swim, play, exercise and relax.
The centre is being designed for people of all ages and abilities.
Set among national landmarks, the centre will reflect thoughtful design, cultural respect and local pride.
The new aquatic centre will deliver on the concept vison for Commonwealth Park, developed by the National Capital Authority, following community consultation in 2025.
