- Concept design is underway and will continue into 2026.
- Consultations with stakeholders started in September 2025. Community engagement will take place in late 2025.
- Construction is planned to begin within the current government term, once design and approvals are complete.
Overview
The ACT Government is building a new aquatic centre in Commonwealth Park, close to Lake Burley Griffin and the City Centre. The site sits near cultural destinations and future light rail stops.
Open year-round, the centre welcomes swimmers, families, carers and people seeking therapy or rehabilitation.
