Funding: $9.934 million from ACT Government and $400,000 from Tennis ACT and Tennis Australia
Joint funding for this project of $9.934 million from the ACT Government and $400,000 from Tennis ACT and Tennis Australia to build a new facility on Horse Park Drive in Amaroo. This investment reflects a significant commitment to enhancing sporting facilities in the Gungahlin region.
Tennis players and visitors can expect:
- 10 full-sized courts
- two hot shot courts
- a hitting wall
- LED lighting
- female friendly change rooms
- a pavilion
- parking.
Tennis ACT and its affiliated clubs will operate and maintain the facility. The community will be able to hire the new tennis courts.
The new centre will be able to host tennis events in Canberra. It will also let Tennis ACT deliver more programs to boost interest and participation.
